Step-by-Step Guide to Purchasing Textbooks Online

Things you will need:

  • Your billing information (including credit/debit card number, address, etc.)
  • Your class schedule (be sure the course numbers are included)

To begin:

  1. Go to the bookstore's website at http://www.store.georgefox.edu. 
  1. Click on the login link located in the top right-hand corner of the page to create or log onto your account.
  1. If you already have an account, then log in and skip to step #6. If you do not already have an account, then you will need to create one. Click on the words "create an account."
  1. Fill out the registration form, including billing information and account registration.
  1. You will be directed to a welcome page where you can view and/or change your account information.
  1. Click on the "Buy Textbooks" link from the menu at the top of the page
  1. Read the information clearly before proceeding to the ordering page, and click where it says, "Continue and purchase textbooks" to start your order.
  1. Select a Campus Term Combination (e.g. Undergrad-Fall 2009).
  1. Select a department from the list of options (e.g. CHEM).
  1. Select a course from the list (e.g. 100).
  1. Select the appropriate section based on your schedule from the list (e.g. A-Staff).
  1. A list of selected textbooks (as determined by the professor) will appear below.
  1. You can select a preference for new or used and the quantity of each book, and click the "add selected books to cart" button.
  1. Continue steps 8-12 for each class on your schedule, and then once you have completed your order you must proceed to your cart to complete the transaction.
  1. Click "Checkout" and continue to follow onscreen instructions until you are issued a receipt and confirmation #.
  1. During checkout you will be prompted to pick a shipping method.  You can choose to have your books shipped to your home via UPS/USPS for a charge.  Or you can have your books sent to the Portland or Salem Campus via the university courier for free or choose to have them held at the Newberg campus for pick up.
